A solo double bass for film, TV, and games.
Eminence Double Bass
Legato so smooth the technology disappears. A solo bass built around a single performance, sampled to behave like a soloist rather than a section of one.
“Cannot recommend Auddict’s libraries highly enough.” — Stephen Barton, composer of Call of Duty 4, Titanfall & Titanfall 2
Solo Double Bass · Performed by Nina Bernat
The double bass is one of the orchestra's most expressive voices and one of the hardest to fake. Eminence is our answer: a solo bass built around a single performance, sampled to behave like a soloist rather than a section of one.
Trailer, walkthrough, full-mix and "naked" demos — all recorded with Eminence Double Bass.

Every sampled legato has a moment where one note becomes the next — and usually you can hear the join. AI-P, our AI-powered legato engine, is how we make it vanish. Drag the handle to compare the same phrase with it off and on, and watch the ugly phasing and layering of stacked samples melt into a single, clean line. Then play each side and listen to the same moment. One sounds like samples. The other sounds like a player.

Feature Deep Dive
Conventional sampled legato crossfades three separate recordings at every note change — the sustain of the from-note, a transition sample, and the sustain of the to-note — and hopes the ear forgives where they overlap. AI-P eliminates an entire layer of that stack. By rebuilding the join at the waveform level, we remove the transition-to-sustain crossfade entirely, cutting the number of competing phases in half and producing a legato that is twice as clean as anything conventionally sampled. For a composer that means exposed solo lines that hold up under close listening, without reverb to hide the seams. It is the single feature that separates Eminence from every other sampled solo bass.

Performer
Nina Bernat is the soloist on Eminence — a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant and first-prize winner at the Concert Artists Guild Elmaleh Competition. She has appeared as soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra, served as guest principal with the Israel Philharmonic and Oslo Philharmonic, and is a member of the Bowers Program at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Her prizes include the International Society of Bassists Solo Competition, the Juilliard Double Bass Competition, and the Barbash J.S. Bach String Competition. She performs on a double bass attributed to Guadagnini, passed down from her father, Mark Bernat.
Story
Eminence is the second title in our solo string series, following Prestige Solo Violin. The brief was simple: capture one player, deeply, and let the AI-P pipeline handle the seams between notes. Every articulation is Nina’s — her bow weight, her vibrato, her phrasing. What reaches your DAW is one bassist playing, not a grid of disconnected samples stitched together at runtime.
